The prospect of half-man, half-robot cyborgs has long captivated the sci-fi imagination. From the Borg in Star Trek to even Darth Vader himself in Star Wars, cyborgs have run the gamut from uncanny to outright maniacal. Many commentators have looked at cyborgs as embodiments of humanity’s capacity to turn living, loving men into callous weapons of war. Others just think they’re awfully cool.
